ORDERING

I have been making instruments since 1986, professionally since 1992. I take great care in selecting superior tonewoods and using time tested methods of construction. All building takes place in a climate-controlled shop, and instruments are warranted to the original owner for my work lifetime.

I build a small number of instruments each year and the current waiting period to start your instrument is about 1 year.

A $500 refundable deposit places your order on my list. Prices for scarce instrument materials are always rising, so I will quote you a final price as construction is beginning. Your deposit becomes non-refundable when we agree on a final price and construction begins. The price does not include shipping and taxes. If your order involves many special materials or custom options, I may ask for an additional deposit.

All transactions must be in U.S. funds or equivalent cash, money order, or certified bank draft. Final satisfaction of CITES or any other necessary export/import regulations are the responsibility of the owner. After I have received your full payment, I will ship your instrument. Personal checks are accepted, but must clear before the instrument can be shipped.

WARRANTY
All my instruments are warranted to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship for my life as an active luthier. This warranty does not cover damage due to normal wear and tear, abuse, neglect, extremes of temperature or humidity, or natural disaster.

Periodic maintenance is the responsibility of the owner and is a condition of warranty. A humidifier and instructions are included in the purchase of each instrument; its proper use is the responsibility of the owner. Repairs or alterations not performed or approved by myself may cancel this warranty. Should the instrument need repairs or adjustments not covered by the warranty, I offer outstanding quality service at reasonable prices. The cost of roundtrip shipping (and shipping insurance) for warranty/repair work is the responsibility of the owner.

RETURNS
After a fifteen day trial period, if the instrument is unsuited to the player, it can be returned for the full purchase price minus deposit. If not in original condition, the cost of restoration will be deducted. In the case of instruments customized such that resale will take some time, reimbursement will follow immediately upon resale of the instrument.
